Assigning and tracking progress
Assign programs to members and follow progress from your workspace and department views.
Admins assign programs to members. Assignments are department-aware, so your workspace structure supports rollout and gives managers oversight of their own department.
How members get assigned
There are two ways a member ends up on a program:
- Automatically, on publish. When an admin publishes a program, every active member of the program's department is assigned to it. As people join that department later, they're added automatically; as people leave the department or the workspace, they're removed from active assignments.
- Manually, by an admin. From the program's detail page, an admin can assign specific people — including members outside the owning department. A program stays owned by its original department even when it's assigned across departments.
Only admins can assign, reassign, or remove people from a program. Managers see their department's progress but don't change assignments.
Removing someone from a program never deletes their work. Their past submissions, feedback, and earned points are preserved. If you assign them again later, that history comes back with them.
Where members see their programs
When a member has an active assignment, the program appears on their home view and in their tracks area. They work through the projects there and submit their work at each checkpoint.
Following progress
As members submit work and admins approve it, progress moves forward. You can follow it from:
- The program's detail page, where an admin sees the assigned roster and how far people have gotten.
- Department views, where a manager sees progress for the department they oversee.
Progress reflects real completion: a project counts as done for a member once their submission is approved in Reviews.
Suggested rollout
- Create the departments you need and put members in the right ones.
- Publish the program for the owning department, so its members are assigned automatically.
- Manually add anyone else who should take it, including people from other departments.
- Watch progress from the program detail page and your department views.
- Review submitted checkpoint work from the Reviews inbox.
