Work together in a room
Create a room, add teammates, and bring your Talent and theirs into one shared conversation with shared memory, files and Skills.
A room is a shared place for one piece of work. Everyone in it sees the same conversations, and every member brings their own Talent along. Your chat with your Talent on Home stays private. A room is where the team and their Talents work in the open.
Rooms are private when you create them. Nobody else sees a room until you add them.
Create a room
- Open Rooms and choose New room.
- Give it a name, like September launch.
- Choose Create room.
You are the room's owner.
Add members
- Open the room and choose Add a member next to the faces at the top.
- Pick a teammate from your workspace.
Adding someone also adds their Talent, and shares the room's existing work with them. Everyone in a room sees the same shared work.
To see who is here, choose See all the members. Switch between People and Talents to see each side. Open a person to see their role, whether they are online, and which Talent works with them.
Talk in the room
Type in Message the room… and send. Your teammates see it right away, and so do their Talents.
To bring someone in, type @ or choose Mention someone. The list has two groups:
- Talents. Mention a Talent to give it the task. It reads the room, does the work, and replies in the conversation. You can watch its progress while it runs.
- People. Mention a teammate to get their attention.
Mentions show up as tags inside the message, so everyone can see who was asked.
Mentioning a teammate's Talent asks it to act for that teammate. Their own settings decide whether it answers right away, asks them first, or does not answer.
For a more formal ask, type /ask or pick Ask a teammate to open a structured request. Asks are visible to everyone in the room.
Room memory and brief
Every Talent in the room works from the same context.
- Room brief. A short note on what the room is for and what every Talent should know. Open Manage room and choose Room brief to write it.
- Room memory. What the room has learned as work happens. Open it from Manage room, under Memory.
- Source documents. Files you add so Talents can look things up while they work. Add them under Memory in Manage room.
- Use my personal memory in this room. A switch only you control. Turn it off if you do not want your Talent to draw on your personal memory here.
Files and Skills
Files made in a room are shared with the room, so every member can open them. If an owner stops sharing a file, the room shows that it is no longer shared.
You can share a Skill you wrote with a room. Open the Skill, find Shared in rooms, and choose Share with a room. People in that room can then use it through their Talent there. Choose Stop to take it back. A Skill needs a saved version before you can share it.
Manage the room
Choose Manage room (the gear in the room header) to rename the room, edit the brief, see members, set your notifications, or Duplicate room. Only the owner can Archive room.
